Most Reverend José H. Gomez
Your invitation to join us
In the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, we enjoy a rich history of pilgrimages to holy sites, including our 2017 and 2018 Archdiocesan Pilgrimages to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. They were wonderful experiences, as we joined those who have made pilgrimage journeys to this holy place for centuries.
Many of those same pilgrims who traveled with us over the past two years are already making plans to return in 2019, and today I invite you to join us.
We will be traveling July 11-15, 2019, with an option of a shorter stay of July 11-14. The highlight of this pilgrimage for both sets of dates will be our visit to the Basilica Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, where we will celebrate Holy Mass on the main altar Saturday, July 13, 2019.
Our journey will be a time when we deepen our faith, give thanks for the many blessings in our lives, and pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ. I do hope you can join us!
May Jesus, through the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe, grant you peace and joy,
This pilgrimage to Mexico includes visits to numerous breathtaking and sacred sites. The following are some of the highlights:
- Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe
- Metropolitan Cathedral of the Assumption of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven
- Museum of the Templo Mayor
- Zocalo (Plaza de la Constitucion)
- Church of Our Lady of the Pillar
- The Church of San Francisco
- The Temple of San Felipe Neri
- Santa Maria Tulpetlac Church (Church of the Fifth Apparition)
- Xochimilco Gardens
We’ll place prayer petitions from parishioners across the Archdiocese on the altar at each Mass we celebrate in Mexico. Submit your prayers here.
The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe was the highlight! The Cathedral in Mexico City was extraordinary as were the daily Masses. I loved the spirituality of the country.
We are very pleased with the Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Guadalupe’s Shrine. We certainly will travel again with the Archdiocese.
